This month renowned opera and song company, OPERATIF! presents a fabulous concert of songs from Ireland, Scotland and Wales at Sunshine Coast Council’s Nambour Civic Centre.

Our Celtic Homelands will be presented in several South East Queensland locations and Wednesday, June 25 is Nambour’s opportunity to enjoy a marvellous morning of song, commencing at 11am. The concert will be held in the Nambour Civic Centre in the beautiful, intimate theatre space, which boasts very comfy tiered seating and a lovely grand piano.

Stewart Cameron said OPERATIF! used to perform at the Nambour Civic Centre back in the days of Colin Harper and the Pop’s Orchestra.

“It’s so lovely to be returning to this very central and welcoming Sunshine Coast venue,” Mr Cameron said.

The not-to-be missed performance features OPERATIF! co-founders Soprano Jennifer Parish and baritone Stewart Cameron. Joining them will be special guest, tenor David Kidd (a founding member of the renowned Ten-Tenors whom most will recognise) and brilliant Scots-born piano accompanist, Mr John Woods.

Those attending can expect many old favourites including My Love is like a Red, Red Rose, Sweet Sixteen, Mifanwy, Danny Boy, Flower of Scotland, The Rose of Tralee, Loch Lomond, My Little Welsh Home, Galway Bay and Donald..Where’s Ya Troosers!

The Nambour Civic Centre is particularly keen to see senior members of the community coming along to enjoy the concert. Morning tea will be provided and the new lift makes access easier for people with limited mobility.

A follow-up concert, A Dream of Vienna, is scheduled for Nambour on October 2.
