Sunshine Coast Council presents an exciting and affordable holiday program that is loaded with fun for the whole family these January school holidays.

For those who enjoy watching movies on the big screen, Arthouse Cinema Nambour will kick off the holiday period on Tuesday, January 6 with the screening of the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Kids can follow the adventures of the humanoid warrior turtles for only $9 and receive a free popcorn. There are ample opportunities to see this and other kid’s movies with a range of dates throughout January.

Magic comes to life on stage when BATS Theatre Co Inc present the renowned pantomime Cinderella on various dates at the Lake Kawana Community Centre, starting on Saturday, January, 10. Kids and big kids can join in the fun with lots of singing and dancing with many laughs to be shared. The show recreates the traditional fairytale of Cinderella, complete with a handsome prince, ugly step sisters and Buttons, Cinderella’s friend, for only $14 per ticket.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get better, Lake Kawana Community Centre presents The Listies Make You LOL! on Tuesday, January 13. A comedy perfect for children aged six to 12 years and features alien attacks, toilet paper guns, spew, the rudest word in the world and the most disgusting undies you have ever seen in your life! Tickets are $18 or only $15 for SCvip members. Perfect for the whole family and guaranteed to make them laugh (including the Dads!).

If your child loves drama then they will have a ball at the Little Seed Theatre Company’s week long intensive drama workshop at Nambour Civic Centre. Kids will have fun while receiving drama training with the opportunity to act in two full pantomime performances at the end of the week, showcasing to family and friends all they have learnt.

Last, but certainly not least, if your child enjoys outdoor activities, you can’t go past what’s on offer at the Sunshine Coast Stadium these school holidays. The Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy, in conjunction with Kawana Aquatic Centre, will offer skilled bike, swimming and running sessions. Beginning Tuesday, January 12 and running over four separate dates, there is plenty of time to join in. Participants will also have the opportunity to put their newly acquired skills into action with a mini-kids triathlon throughout the sports precinct. For only $7.50 per person for a one hour session, it’s a great opportunity for your child to have fun, make friends and enjoy the outdoors.
