Sunshine Coast holiday parks naturally relaxing this summer

The Coast is once again enjoying a bumper summer with solid bookings at the Sunshine Coast Holiday Parks which have some great holiday activities planned for over the Christmas-New Year break.

The six council-owned holiday parks are at capacity for the peak middle period of the school holidays – December 23 to January 12 – and bookings are strong for the remainder of the break.

Tourism, Events and Sport Portfolio Cr Jason O’Pray said there was no doubt the Sunshine Coast was a fantastic holiday destination at any time of the year, and our holiday parks are a great option for visitors and locals to enjoy a “staycation”.

“There is so much to explore in our region – from our pristine beaches stretching from Caloundra in the south to Coolum in the north and of course the natural wonders of the Glass House Mountains,” Cr O’Pray said.

“Our holiday parks are conveniently located, allowing visitors to do as much or as little as they like.

“If holidaymakers don’t want to venture too far, our holiday parks have organised some awesome holiday activities to entertain children and adults alike.

“Cotton Tree Holiday Park will continue their popular Foodie Nights on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and there will be a massage tent, yoga and live music Sunday Sessions.

“Of course the kids don’t miss out with Kids Bingo, movie nights and craft workshops.

“Visitors staying at Mudjimba Beach Holiday Park can join in face painting, water slides, a talent quest and evenings with food vans and music.

“And these are just some of the fun-filled activities planned across our six holiday parks.”

Cr O’Pray said had a range of minor capital works had been completed at the holiday parks and additional improvements were planned for the future.

“Mudjimba Beach Holiday Park underwent an expansion which added 46 sites and new facilities which have been very popular for group bookings,” Cr O’Pray said.

“I am happy to announce we have awarded a contract for the construction of new amenity building and camp kitchen at Mudjimba, which will commence the end of January 2018.”

Council operates six beachside holiday parks at Dicky Beach, Mooloolaba, Maroochydore, Cotton Tree, Mudjimba and Coolum.
