The new Sunshine Coast Regional Council will host its first business networking workshop and event on Tuesday, April 22 in the Wandiny Room at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort.

The event, aimed at connecting hundreds of like-minded business people from across the Sunshine Coast, will offer guests the potential to meet new clients, suppliers and business contacts.

The networking event will be preceded by a free “Networking vs Notworking” workshop by Geoff Butler, offering tips on effective networking and maximising opportunities presented by events such as these.

Sunshine Coast Regional Council Mayor, Bob Abbot who will be attending the event said the new Council will continue the good work of the previous councils in encouraging and nurturing economic growth in the region.

“Events such as these foster strong working relationships between industry, local business and council and the demand is evident with previous events attracting over 350 people,” Mayor Abbot said.

The Sunshine Coast Regional Council Networking Night is open to all business people at a cost of $15 per person, which includes canapés.

The workshop commences at 4.30pm, followed by the networking event at 5.30pm. Numbers are limited and registration by Thursday, April 17 is essential.

For more information or to register please visit www.businesssunshinecoast.com or phone the Sunshine Coast Regional Council's customer service centre on 5475 8501.

Major sponsors for the event include the Sunshine Coast Area Consultative Committee and Telstra.
