Sunshine Coast business keen to accelerate their profile have been offered one of the speediest opportunities to gain international exposure, one of Australia’s leading events confirmed today.
Australia’s biggest championship rally of the year, The International Rally of Queensland is asking local businesses to step up a gear by becoming involved in the regional event as sponsors.
Economic Development and Council Entrepreneurship portfolio Chair Councillor Lew Brennan said this was a potential opportunity for local firms who sought international exposure to really “put pedal to the metal”.
“Council has worked hard with the organisers to grow the event into the largest rally in Australia and while this has huge benefits for the regional tourism industry, an opportunity also exists for other local business to participate, through the event’s substantial National and International TV coverage,” Cr Brennan said.
Former competitor and Chairman of the International Rally of Queensland, Errol Bailey said the rally gained international status in 2009.
“Now we’re keen to get local Sunshine Coast businesses involved as sponsors to really reinforce the strength of the region and allow locals to join in the excitement of the rally,” Errol Bailey said.
“In terms of TV exposure, you’re looking at full-scale Australian coverage on Network Ten and One HD, Sky TV for New Zealand, ESPN which broadcasts to 201 million subscribers in 19 Asian countries, Motors TV in Europe with 16 million subscribers in 35 European countries and Guangdong TV Sports in China.”
“If you want to associate your business with an international event, plenty of action, entertainment and good family fun then get involved with the International Rally of Queensland.”
”A wide choice of sponsorship, commercial partnership and corporate entertaining opportunities are available to help businesses get the most from the rally.”
The International Rally of Queensland will be held on the Sunshine Coast from the 30th July to the 1st August.
