Economic Development and Entrepreneurship portfolio chair Lew Brennan said he congratulated Ingenero’s decision to invest locally as it strongly supports council’s recently launched Natural Advantage initiative which encouraged investment or re-investment from smart, innovative export focused firms.
“Council and its partners believe there is strong value in the Sunshine Coast as a destination for investment, and it appears that once again the region’s value proposition has presented a strong business case to Ingenero’s management,” Cr Brennan said.
Division 1 Councillor Anna Grosskreutz said she welcomed the increased employment opportunities presented by Ingenero choosing to locate their premises at Warana.
“I believe council’s strong support for creating Australia's most sustainable region is a strong motivator for Ingenero’s decision to continue to invest locally and this is to our gain,” Councillor Grosskreutz said.
In August, Ingenero’s growth was boosted when it merged with Noosa based SolarPay, a company that supplied systems for the Sunshine Coast Environment Council’s highly successful 1000 Solar Roofs Challenge.
When local premises became inadequate for the growth of the company's retail operations which service both Queensland and New South Wales, rather than moving to Brisbane, they chose to re-invest into bigger facilities here on the Sunshine Coast.
Council recently launched its Natural Advantages initiative to proactively attract business to the Sunshine Coast and encourage local business, like Ingenero, to continue investing locally.
