To celebrate Seniors Week, Queensland Ballet presents four exciting workshops at council’s Lake Kawana Community Centre on August 21 August.

Seniors Week, August 19-27, is an opportunity for Sunshine Coast residents of all ages to join together and celebrate the valuable contributions of older people.

Around the world, adults of all ages are discovering what Queensland Ballet has always known – that dance is a great way to increase fitness, improve stamina and have a whole lot of fun.

As we get older, keeping our bodies strong and agile becomes even more important.

Queensland Ballet’s Seniors Week classes are designed to stimulate the body and the mind of active older people, with a range of pace, progression and participation to suit you, no matter what your previous experience may be.

Book into one or more for a day of active enjoyment to celebrate Seniors Week:

Ballet for Seniors: 10 – 11am

Feel better, think better, live better – with ballet. This gentle class is especially tailored for active older adults with a focus on improving poise, core strength, memory and mobility.

Ballet Repertoire: 11am – 12.30pm

This class will give you an insight to repertoire from the Company’s 2017 season. Offered as a great follow up after Ballet for Seniors, this class will bring choreography directly from the stage to the Sunshine Coast.

Tap Classics: 1 – 2pm

This class will have your toes tapping and fingers snapping. Suitable for all levels, Tap Classics will take you through the basics of tap dancing and will get everyone moving regardless of your level of experience.

Zumba Gold: 2.15 – 3.15pm

Come ready to sweat and feel empowered with this modified version of the hugely popular Zumba. This class is a great cardio workout designed especially for seniors, one that will enhance flexibility, balance and conditioning.
