Police to lease council office space at Nambour
Queensland Police officers will be accommodated at the Sunshine Coast Council Nambour building under a lease arrangement approved by council.
Queensland Police officers will be accommodated at the Sunshine Coast Council Nambour building under a lease arrangement approved by council today (December 6).
Deputy Mayor Tim Dwyer said while market rental and terms were yet to be negotiated, he welcomed the decision to enter into a lease arrangement with the Queensland Police Service.
“This is a good outcome for both the QPS and this council,” Cr Dwyer said.
“It opens up the opportunity to work with the Queensland Police Service, addresses their needs for more accommodation and creates a financial benefit for our ratepayers.”
Cr Dwyer said the final number of officers moving into council’s Currie St, Nambour building was yet to be determined.
Council staff currently accommodated in the area to be leased by QPS will be relocated within council’s Nambour offices.
The proposed lease is expected to commence from January 2019.
