Sunshine Coast locals with a lived experience of disability and their families are invited to share their experiences of their favourite accessible and/or inclusive places.

Starting 29 October, the Accessible Sunshine Coast Photo Competition invites residents to capture these everyday moments with a short description of the location and share the stories behind them. What makes it accessible and/or inclusive? Tell us about your experience.

The winning entry will receive a family pass to Australia Zoo, announced on 3 December, International Day of People with Disability.

Celebrating the places that welcome everyone

Strong Community Portfolio Councillor Taylor Bunnag said the competition was a celebration of places and spaces that support participation and inclusion.

“This competition brings the All Abilities Action Plan to life by celebrating the places and spaces that foster access, inclusion and participation for everyone.

“We encourage everyone to showcase their favourite accessible places and spaces that contribute to greater participation by people with disability in community, sporting and cultural activities.”

How to enter

Entrants are asked to submit a photo of themselves at a location they find accessible and/or inclusive, along with a short description.

Search “Accessible Photo Comp” at sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au for competition details and to enter.
