Online fee estimator handy tool for development industry

A new online fee estimator has been launched by Sunshine Coast Council to help developers calculate application fees and charges prior to lodgement.

Planning and Development portfolio holder Cr Christian Dickson said the new estimator will reduce uncertainty associated with total fees by providing a cost-efficient and timely self-assessment service.

“The fee estimator provides 24/7 access to a range of development information free of charge.  This new service complements council’s other free property services, including Development Information Site Report, My Maps and PD online,” Cr Dickson said.

“This estimation tool will reduce the time it takes to research the types of fees and charges that apply to development applications.  It also provides information that is specifically relevant to the type of development each applicant is doing.

“The estimator is not only easy to access but also user-friendly with just two mandatory fields to complete, and really quick, calculating the estimated fee within seconds.

“This new service provides a basic guide for the fees and charges associated with a particular development application submission, which is expected to reduce the volume of ‘not properly’ made submissions to council.

“Availability of the new online fee estimator, together with council's pre-lodgement and pre-design service, property information and ability to have 24/7 access to a range of development information free of charge shows council's continued responsiveness to the changing needs of the region."
