Noosa Heads Lions Park will soon be looking lush and green again with Council crews on site this week to start work restoring the park’s well worn surface.
Scheduled works include regrading of the surface to improve drainage, improvement to the soil and new turf.
Local Division 11 Councillor Russell Green welcomed the work and said he hoped the weather holds up so that the new grass can get established before Noosa’s next major event.
“This hard working park sees lots of action each year and it will be great to see it looking its best as a result of this restoration,” Cr Green said.
“Its home to the Noosa Triathlon, and the annual Food and Wine Festival, so I’m hoping for more blue skies than grey over the next three months so the work crews have a clear run in time for spring when activities at the park ramp up.”
The duration of the works depends on good weather but council aims to have the park complete by late August 2009.
