Children will love to talk, read, sing and play in the new vibrant children’s area at Kawana Library

There were lots of happy faces when the new addition to the children’s area at council’s Kawana Library was put to the test during Rhymetime today (May 2).
The new children’s area creates a special ambience through modern design, providing a vibrant and innovative recreation and learning space for children under five, and improved synergies with the recently refurbished surrounding areas.
Division 4 Councillor John Connolly said the children’s area of Kawana Library was very popular at storytime with up to 80 under fives listening to stories and singing along to their favourite nursery rhymes.
“I made a commitment to fund the improvements of this area from my divisional budget and I’m now pleased to see the space has been transformed to a welcoming and vibrant area for children,” Cr Connolly said.
“Importantly the area has now been enclosed so it can be used all year around.
“New additions include two new toy cupboards provided by the Friends of Kawana Library.
“There is also a seating ribbon for people to sit and read which is consistent with the theme used throughout the newly revamped Kawana Library.
“This area allows parents, care-givers and children a place to explore, learn and play which is fully contained yet still a part of the wider library.”
