Visitors to Coolum Beach now have easier access to the sand, thanks to a new set of timber stairs at Beach Access 81 installed by Sunshine Coast Council.

Divisional councillor Steve Robinson said the stairs provided safer access to the beach from the northern end of Coolum boardwalk.

“As well as improving safety, the timber stairs provide a much-needed makeover to Beach Access 81 – they look fantastic and match the popular boardwalk,” Cr Robinson said.

“Council built over the existing concrete stairs to avoid disturbing tree roots and destabilising the bank.”
