Spectators will be able to put their feet up and relax the next time their favourite sports team is in action at the Beerwah Sports Complex thanks to the installation of three new spectator stands this week.

The stands will offer greater flexibility for users of the facility including groups such as Rugby League, Equestrian riders, skaters at the Skate Park, runners in Little Athletics and drivers at the annual Burn Out day.

Division 1 Councillor Anna Grosskreutz, stated that the grandstands will provide seating for up to 180 people in total.

"Limited spectator seating has always meant patrons could not take as much advantage of events held at the sports complex, and these grandstands will be a wonderful asset for our sporting community," said Cr Grosskreutz.

The portable design of the grandstands means that they can be easily moved around the complex depending on the type of event taking place.

The grandstands will be ready to use from the start of July in time for the 40th Annual Charity Sports Event fast approaching in August.
