Caloundra Regional Gallery, in conjunction with Sunshine Coast Libraries, has launched a fantastic new art exhibition space on level two at the Maroochydore Library and is now looking for local artists who are interested in exhibiting their work.
Artists based in the Sunshine Coast Council region are invited to submit an expression of interest to be part of a 12 month exhibition program starting in April 2017.
Arts Portfolio Councilor Rick Baberowski said the Maroochydore Library Artspace provided a wonderful opportunity for established and emerging local artists to exhibit their works outside of a traditional gallery setting.
“We have a large population of artists here on the Sunshine Coast so it’s important that we provide opportunities for them to showcase their work to our community and visitors to the region,” Cr Baberowski said.
“I know how difficult or daunting the task of holding an exhibition can be for emerging, and even established artists, so it’s fantastic that we have this additional exhibition area.
“The space is equipped with gallery hanging systems and lighting, and exhibiting artists will be supported by experienced gallery staff throughout the process.
“Our libraries are thriving community hubs, so the additional Maroochydore Library Artspace will provide a unique opportunity for our local artists to exhibit and share their work with a whole new audience.”
Artists are invited to submit an exhibition proposal, CV and images to be considered for the 12 month exhibition program, with each exhibition to run for a six week period.
For more information and to download an exhibition proposal form visit the gallery website.
Expressions of interest close on Friday, December 16, 2016.
