Founder of The Creative Collective, Yvette Adams, is one of the key speakers at next month’s Sunshine Coast Council Events Network ( scene) workshop.

Yvette Adams’ entrepreneurialism and general business insight has seen her win numerous business awards including the Commonwealth Bank Business Owner of the Year Award at the 2010 Telstra Business Women’s Awards Queensland.

The scene program is packed with inspirational presenters including global networking specialist Robyn Henderson, Sunshine Coast Airport’s Peter Pallot, Business Events Sunshine Coast Manager Pippa McCreery, University of Sunshine Coast lecturer David Gration and Wicked Wolf and Awards Absolute Managing Director Liz Rivers.

Community Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the key to the success of scene is securing high profile event industry professionals and local Sunshine Coast service providers to share their expertise.

"To secure speakers of this calibre helps to develop a dynamic and sustainable events industry on the Sunshine Coast." Cr McKay said.

"Yvette is an experienced and inspiring speaker who shares her message to the community with passion and enthusiasm and her talk will focus on breaking down the social media barriers.

"She is involved in a number of industry reference groups and is a member of several professional associations so it’s great to welcome her to scene."

The scene workshop will be held at the Sunshine Coast TAFE Mooloolaba Campus from 1.30pm on Thursday 18 October and will be followed by a free networking evening. The evening includes finger food, entertainment, lucky door prizes, cash bar, and a showcase of local suppliers and performers featuring new products and technologies.

For the full workshop program or to purchase tickets please visit council’s website or phone council on 5475 7272.

scene is proudly supported by Business Events Sunshine Coast, the University of the Sunshine Coast, Sunshine Coast TAFE and Mantra Group who will all have strong input and involvement with the network.
