Little Cove beach at Noosa was given the all clear and reopened to swimmers this afternoon after a sewerage pipe failure on Monday was thought to have contaminated the water.

Water testing over the past two days returned a clean bill of health for the popular swimming spot and the “no swimming signs” have now been removed.

The beach was closed when a slow leak from a damaged sewerage pipe at Park Road (near Little Cove Road) was spotted and reported to Council.

Tankers were called in to cart waste to the treatment plant while the pipe was being repaired and to contain the spill.

The pipe has now been repaired and water samples taken today and yesterday confirmed the water is safe for swimming.

Council would like to thank locals and visitors to Little Cove for their patience.
