Sunshine Coast Lightning will feature in a top-of-the-table Suncorp Super Netball clash at the USC Sports Stadium on Saturday night after keeping their undefeated status intact with round three win against Adelaide Thunderbirds at the weekend.

The Lightning won 51-42 in Adelaide - their first away victory - to stay in second place on the ladder, trailing only fellow first-year club the Giants who have won three straight games to start the season.

In a bold statement that they would not rely too heavily on their champion New Zealand midcourter Laura Langman who was sidelined by injury, the Lightning were powered by a high-quality performance from Laura Scherian, and league-leading shooter Caitlin Bassett (43 goals at 93%).

The Thunderbirds showed only glimpses of their potential, with coach Dan Ryan working his bench overtime to find answers.

While the defence end was dynamic for Adelaide, they could not make amends for a misfiring goal circle that scored at 64%.

Tickets for Saturday night's game are available from sunshinecoastlightning.com.au.

The match will also be televised live on Gem.
