Council invites residents and visitors to join the founder of global company Food Matters from 6 to 8pm on Wednesday, June 24 at the Caloundra Events Centre.
James Colquhoun will lead a discussion on his role as a pioneer in the grassroots food movement and where he sees the direction of food in the future.
In 2008 Food Matters released a documentary focusing on how food can help overcome illness naturally. The follow up film Hungry for Change is dedicated to helping people escape the diet trap and includes a look at the weight loss industry. Both films were highly successful and allowed James Colquhoun and partner Laurentine Ten Bosch to build an internationally recognised brand with two million Facebook followers and close to one million on Instagram.
Food Matters has recently launched FMTV, an online subscription based website featuring over 400 inspirational health and wellness films, documentaries, yoga practice, cooking and food programs. The website has already attracted over 28,000 subscriptions world-wide.
This interactive evening is part of a series of Sunshine Coast Libraries forums hosted at various locations across the region.
Food Matters books and DVDs will be available for purchase at the venue. Tickets are $25 per person and bookings are a must via Council’s library website. Appetisers and refreshments will be included.
