An independent research company is set to begin surveying residents this week to gauge community opinion on how Sunshine Coast Council can best engage with and provide regular council information to its community.
The research will be gathered by Market Facts Queensland who will survey, by telephone, 400 randomly selected residents. The survey will also be mailed to residents who have indicated they are interested in taking part in council information gathering programs. And, the survey will be available on council’s website for anyone interested in having a say.
The main aim of the research is to provide council with unbiased information on how its residents would like to receive regular council information and take part in community engagement programs.
The results are expected to be made available in January 2009 and will help inform council’s 2009/1010 budget.
Market Facts Queensland is a professional market research company that uses accepted and proven sampling techniques.
The information will also be used to benchmark further surveys in subsequent years.
The results provide a valuable way for council to meet the community’s expectations and residents are encouraged to take the time to participate in the survey whether it be by phone, mail or on-line.
