The Draft Noosa Junction Placemaking Master Plan has been completed and Sunshine Coast Council is now inviting community feedback.

Division 11 Councillor Russell Green said the draft plan has been informed by three months of extensive consultation with the community and with Noosa Junction businesses and associated organisations.

“The draft master plan has made the most of the natural connections of Noosa Junction with adjacent Pinaroo Rotary Park and Noosa National Park, and builds on The Junction’s laidback, leafy subtropical feel,’’ Cr Green said.

“One aim is that in years to come, as the master plan is implemented, Noosa Junction will feel like ‘The Natural Heart of Noosa’,” he said.

“The proposed landscaping will go a long way towards creating that impression.

“Other key aspects of the draft master plan include the slowing of traffic by making Sunshine Beach Road two lanes, increasing pedestrian and bicycle friendliness: and creating an inlet road into Noosa Junction from Noosa drive between Noosa Heads Bowls Club and Pinaroo Rotary Park.”

The Draft Noosa Junction Placemaking Master Plan will be available for comment from Wednesday April 28 until Wednesday May 19. The Draft Master Plan will be on council’s website from April 28 and you can have your say by filling in an online feedback form.

The draft master plan will also be on display at The J from the afternoon of Wednesday April 28 until Wednesday May 19 and you can also fill out a feedback form there. The consultants will be at the display at The J from 1-7pm Wednesday April 28 to answer your questions.
