The events industry on the Sunshine Coast is in good hands with more than 250 people attending the recent Sunshine Coast Events Network ( scene) Events Expo.

The expo was a huge success with suppliers, entertainers, venues, event planners and more having the chance to network and see what’s currently on offer.

The scene 2016 program of workshops was launched at the expo and features a fantastic line-up of professional guest speakers covering a broad range of event related topics.

Workshops book out early, so be sure to pick up a copy of the program from council’s customer service centres, libraries or visit the website and book your place.

Workshops will be held throughout the year with the first taking place on Wednesday, April 13 covering all things event management.

The Event Management Workshop features presenters Krista Hauritz, who works with event organisers on strategic direction, business planning and marketing, and Vickii Cotter who has been involved in the delivery of well-known events including the Noosa Jazz Festival, Gympie Muster, Crave Sydney International Food Festival and Bluesfest.

Krista has a wealth of event and tourism industry experience and will help participants explore business planning to ensure they get the most out of their event.

Vickii will show participants how to put an event plan into action, going through event logistics and everything needed to deliver an event.

Bookings for workshops are essential and the cost to attend is only $15, or $10 for students/pensioners. You can also book a package of four workshops for only $50, but this offer ends on April 14. Book now via council’s website.
