If this appeals to you and you are looking for work, then circle August 20 on your calendar and clear your schedule for The Sunshine Coast Job Show! It’s the largest one-stop shop of current and upcoming job vacancies on the Sunshine Coast and will bring together hundreds of available jobs from across the region in the one place, at the one time, on the one day.

More than 300 job-seekers and 37 private and public sector employers have already registered  for the Sunshine Coast Council initiative that will be held at the TAFE Queensland Eastcoast Campus in Mooloolaba.

Mayor Mark Jamieson said it was a golden opportunity for job-seekers of all ages.

“If you’re looking for a job, a different job or even your first job, the Sunshine Coast Job Show will bring together employers and prospective employees in the one place, with everything from entry level to professional jobs across a range of industries,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“There will also be workshops providing job-seekers with the knowledge, skills and contacts to give themselves the best possible chance of finding future employment.

“The Job Show supports the Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS) that aims to triple the size of our economy to $33 billion over the next 20 years and increase the number of jobs in our seven High Value industries from 59,000 to 100,000.

“Already, there are a high proportion of job-seekers who’ve registered for the Job Show expressing interest in the Health Industry, which is encouraging because it’s the fastest growing of our seven High Value Industries on the Coast.”

Some of the Sunshine Coast’s largest employers will be present at the Job Show, including Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service, Youi, Novotel Twin Waters, Auto & General and Stellar.

Youi Group CEO Howard Aron said the insurance company had a keen interest in the Job Show with the planned establishment of its global headquarters at Sippy Downs.

“More than 900 staff will move into our new Sippy Downs base and we’ll be looking to add to our staff numbers as we continue to grow and expand our operations,” Mr Aron said.

“So we’re very keen to be involved in the Job Show and meet with people who may be potential future employees.”
