Council has adorned 26 trees across the region with eco-friendly LED lights and colourful decorations, creating a cheerful glow to local parks and streets.

Whether you stroll beneath the glowing branches in Caloundra, picnic under the twinkling lights in Montville or cruise past the dazzling display in Alexandra Headland, there’s a festive stop near you to explore this holiday season.

Wurtulla : Crummunda Park

Nestled along the tranquil shores of Currimundi Lake, Crummunda Park is a local favourite for its natural shade, cool breezes and relaxed vibe. It’s the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy the season, whether you’re planning a festive picnic, a family play date or a quiet stroll by the water.

Complete with a multi-level fort playground, flying fox, exercise equipment and half basketball court. With easy access to the lake, you can even try your hand at fishing from shore or simply soak up the views.

Alexandra Headland: Buhk Family Park

Right on the beachfront, Buhk Family Park is the perfect spot to soak up the coastal vibe while enjoying the festive lights nearby. With sweeping ocean views and shady picnic areas, it’s a great place to relax after visiting the illuminated tree next to the Surf Club.

For those looking for more action, the park also features a popular skate park, making it a hotspot for skaters and scooter riders. Take a stroll along the Coastal Pathway, watch the surfers or fire up the barbecue for a casual get-together. There’s plenty of open space for ball games or kite flying, and the sound of the waves makes it a truly Sunshine Coast experience.
