Festival tickets selling fast

Ticket sales for the Caloundra Music Festival are racing out the door, as the opening day on Friday approaches.

"Advance ticket sales are looking a lot bigger than last year," festival director Richie Eyles said.

"A number of helpful factors are adding up, including that we have all three eastern states having their spring school holidays over the same fortnight.

"And the weather forecast is looking good, so it’s all systems go.

"But in the end, it’s the quality of booked performers which counts the most – and we’ve got a great line-up for this year."

Headline acts include The Living End, John Butler Trio and The Cat Empire, along with Lanie Lane, Ball Park Music, The Beards and Ben Lee.

New Orleans sounds are being provided by Big Easy visitors Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, also the fabulous funky Galactic.

Festival-goers will also be able to catch some other well-known names including Noiseworks, The Whitlams, Ian Moss and Boom Crash Opera.

Many other acts make up the whole three-day package, which kicks off on Friday.

Don’t forget, entry for kids is only $11 (age 1 – 12), while footy fans will be able to catch the Grand Final matches on Saturday and Sunday on three big screens set up through the festival site.
