Families looking for exciting ways to explore the outdoors and create unique arts and craft these Easter holidays will be spoiled for choice on the Sunshine Coast.

Sunshine Coast Council’s Birds of a Feather holiday program promises to set young imaginations soaring.

Held at two of our stunning local reserves, Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens, this crafty and colourful workshop series is packed full of creative and inspiring activities for children and young people aged four to 17-years-old.

Local artists work closely with participants, teaching a variety of painting and printmaking techniques, upcycled sculpture and creative dance - and it’s all about birds, so get ready to shake your tail feather and widen your wingspan.

The Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens will host an Easter Family Picnic at the Whipbird Village on April 6.  This autumn afternoon in the beautiful bushland will be colourful and casual  with music, craft, storytelling and an Easter egg hunt.

The Easter Picnic event is free to attend, but registrations are necessary, visit council’s event website for more details.
