Easter school holiday events to entertain the kids

Sunshine Coast Council today announced an exciting range of school holiday activities are on offer at various library and gallery locations to help parents entertain their children over the Easter break.

Library and Gallery Services Manager, Ross Duncan said there are over 30 school holiday events to choose from.

"At the local libraries there is something for everyone including Easter craft, hip hop dancing, Indigenous storytelling, origami, ani-movie workshops, chocolate making and much more," he said.

"Caloundra and Nambour libraries will play host to the State Library's fun indoor wonderland, The Corner, where children can escape to a Torres Strait Islander world with places to explore including a lighthouse, a welcome hut, fishing boats and much more.

"Caloundra Regional Gallery is offering aspiring young artists Good Old Fashioned Drawing ArtScool sessions for children to learn how to draw vintage toys with graphite pencils.

"While at Noosa Regional Gallery children can choose from four art classes including Folded Cityscapes which focuses on landscape and architecture where they will build miniature buildings and From the Past to the Future to learn how to collage and design their own mini city."

The majority of library activities are free while gallery activities cost only $15 per child. Visit the Sunshine Coast Council Library website to view the full school holiday program and to make an online booking.
