Sunshine Coast Council presents The Melbourne Ballet Company’s acclaimed work Infinite Space for one performance only at Nambour Civic Centre on Thursday 28 March 2013 at 7.30pm.
Founded in 2007, the Melbourne Ballet Company has grown to become one of Australia’s most loved dance companies. It has defined its own unique style of ballet, which is innovative and exciting while paying respect to classical technique. Accompanying the company will be dancer Alexander Baden Bryce who trained for nine years with the Anne Fraser School of Dance here on the Sunshine Coast.
The performance will comprise of four works choreographed by the company’s resident choreographer Simon Hoy, who originally trained with the Australian Ballet and has performed with companies in Europe and New York.
Infinite Space is a breathtaking example of classical dance re-interpreted to inspire both new and loyal ballet audiences. It will entrance audiences as it takes them on a choreographic journey through four acclaimed and original works, all bought to life by a uniquely talented dance ensemble.

Dark Before Daylight: an impression of the timeless Swan Lake featuring classical pointe shoes and tutus.
Phrased Without Word: to the music of Arvo Pärt’s Spiegel in Spiegel.
Infinite Space: to the music of Mozart’s 27th Piano Concerto – this is Melbourne Ballet Company’s signature piece and is an uplifting celebration of hope and beauty.
Cost to attend is $45 for adults, $40 for concessions and groups of eight or more, $25 for 25 years and under and $35 for subscribers.
