Cr Robinson - Celebrating students' achievements
A terrific highlight for me this year was attending the Coolum State High School 2017 Awards Night. The evening was full of outstanding young people achieving recognition for their academic, sporting and community achievements.
Celebrating students’ achievements
A terrific highlight for me this year was attending the Coolum State High School 2017 Awards Night. The evening was full of outstanding young people achieving recognition for their academic, sporting and community achievements. It was an honour to attend and I'm always thoroughly impressed with the quality of these events, which are hosted by the students themselves. The evening was capped off with terrific musical performances.
Coolum hosts state skate championships
The Coolum skate bowl was once again host to the Queensland Skateboarding Championships. It was exciting to see plenty of keen skaters of all ages demonstrate their skills on the newly upgraded skate park, in what is one of the fastest growing sports in the country. This event has again put Coolum on the map as a high quality skateboarding event destination.
Business, tourism and theatre
Recently I officiated at the Coolum Business and Tourism AGM to facilitate the election of the president and committee. This year's committee has two new members and I wish them all the best for the coming year. After the AGM we were treated to a prelude of the Coolum Theatre Players' upcoming performance of Monthy Python's Spamalot. If you're a Monty Python fan, or just want to have a fun night out, this event is not to be missed.
Meet and greet
I’ll be at Coolum Library to chat about local issues on November 22 from 1-3pm.
