Summer loving

Locals and visitors to the area will be pleased to know we’re hard at work improving and enhancing many outdoor assets within our beautiful Buderim and surrounds in time for everyone to fully appreciate the sights and sounds of summer - here is a quick selection.

At Whites Lookout on Fountain Rd in Buderim council continues to undertake environmental and beautification works including new planting and weed management. These works are being undertaken in a staged process.

Over at popular Fishermans Road Park, construction of the fish cleaning table and shelter has been completed.

The new facility has already been a great success with local fishermen, providing a sheltered spot for those hot summer days and also enhancing the precinct waterways and open space areas at the park.

Meanwhile, works have also been completed on renewing the main noticeboard at our stunning natural bushland asset, EJ Foote Sanctuary, Buderim.

The works consisted of replacing all existing rafters/trusses and post connections as well as the re-staining of all wood components. This will provide a much safer, more appealing structure and is a great outcome for the local community.

Christmas countdown

It’s hard to believe I know, but Christmas is only 37 days away! As you navigate through all the hectic hustle and bustle remember there are many wonderful community events and activities taking place throughout the region to suit even the most Grinch-like amongst us.

Top of my list would have to be Buderim Community Carols by Candlelight 2016 on November 10 at Buderim Village Park on King St. This is a classic Buderim family tradition, which my family and I look forward to enjoying every year. Hope to catch you there.
