Another pair of sneakers are ready for the trash can after carrying me on foot and scooter to all 11,263 mailboxes in Division 7 to hand deliver my half-yearly local community newsletter.

Topics include the latest developments at Buderim Village Park and local sports grounds, the new verge garden policy, a survey on the future of the Krauss Locomotive and more.

As always, it was a pleasure to say g’day and catch up with many local residents along my journey.

Get snapping!

Entries are now open for the 2018 Sunshine Coast Environment and Liveability Photography Award, ‘Our Sunshine Coast’, with an exciting prize pool of $8,000 on offer.

The competition is inviting local photographers to use their skills and passion to celebrate the story of the Coast’s distinct environments through the lens of a camera.

From our beautiful reserves, creeks and waterways to our sports grounds, parks, playgrounds, events and even native wildlife, there are plenty of options right here in Buderim perfect for the competition so why not have a go and capture what you love about the region on camera.

Visit council’s website for further information and to enter. Entries close May 14.

Anzac Day spirit

Every year I attend the Anzac Day service in Buderim to honour all of the Australians who have served and often paid the supreme sacrifice in the service of our country.

Although a solemn occasion, as a serving defence force reservist, this day of remembrance holds a special place in my heart.

I will be at the dawn service starting at 5am at Buderim Village Park and also the main service at 9am under the Pine Forest at Buderim Mountain State School.

All are welcome.
