Sparkling lights in Mooloolaba
Take an evening stroll along Mooloolaba Esplanade to see our new fairy lights. The lights have been permanently installed throughout a number of trees, bringing the area to life. They create a wonderful ambience, all part of transforming Mooloolaba into an international tourist destination. It was great to see so many visitors enjoying the area over the recent school holiday period. Keep your eyes peeled for more attractions in Mooloolaba over the Christmas and New Year school holiday period.
Alex Skate Park officially open
I had a great time at the official opening of the new Alex Skate Park. It’s a wonderful facility for the community and one that they really appreciate. We had a big crowd, there were workshops, pro demonstrations, giveaways and an official ribbon cutting. The project was delivered ahead of schedule and it’s fantastic to see our skaters taking advantage of the facility already. The final design offers a modern and innovative skate park that includes many features the community asked for during consultation. This $1.2 million project was funded through council’s Capital Works Program, which delivers a range of recreational projects for our community.
