Cr Christian Dickson - Team work makes the dream work
As my first post-election column, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person for your continued support and encouragement as I continue to serve you to the best of my ability. As I embark on this new term as your local councillor, my priorities remain the same, I will be your representative in council, not council’s representative in the community.
Team work makes the dream work
As my first post-election column, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person for your continued support and encouragement as I continue to serve you to the best of my ability. As I embark on this new term as your local councillor, my priorities remain the same, I will be your representative in council, not council’s representative in the community.
It may have been a tough election, but the real people doing it tough and hurting are those in our local community. I’m proud to speak on behalf of people who are doing it tough and recognise the support we must offer local businesses in our region.
While these are difficult times, council have stepped up to the plate to help our community navigate its way through this pandemic. We’ve done that by providing more than $2 million in direct financial support through two business support packages. We have focused on waiving fees and easing regulations where it was safe to do so, community and commercial lease relief, signage to help businesses adjust and bringing forward up to $3 million in capital works projects to support local jobs and keep money circulating in the local economy. The road to recovery will not be easy but your council is positioned better than most.
I would like to wish you and your family every strength, positive thought and prayer as we all journey through these challenging times together.
Your humbled and thankful local councillor,
Christian Dickson.
