Kawana’s Pink Triathlon

Registrations for the all-female Ramsay Health Care Triathlon Pink on November 30 are open now.

The triathlon is the latest in a series of sporting championships and fun runs to be held at Sunshine Coast Stadium and Kawana Sports Precinct.

It’s the fifth year Sunshine Coast Stadium has hosted Triathlon Pink, which is a nationwide triathlon event.

The triathlon starts at Kawana Aquatic Centre for the swim leg, transitions onto the bike leg from the sports fields onto Sportsmans Parade and finishes with a picturesque run along Lake Kawana foreshore.

The Ramsay Health Care Triathlon Pink series has raised more than $1.4 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, The McGrath Foundation, Breast Cancer Network Australia and Mater chicks in pink for breast cancer support, education, research and advocacy.

You can register for the Triathlon Pink at www.triathlonpink.com.au/entry-info.

Sunshine Coast Airport expansion

Don’t forget to have your say on the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Sunshine Coast Airport Expansion Project. The public comment period comes to an end at 5pm, Thursday 13 November 2014.

Submissions can only be made via the Office of the Coordinator-General. Visit www.haveyoursay.dsdip.qld.gov.au/coordinatorgeneral/SCAexpansion to download the EIS and to make an online submission.

Following the closure of the public comment period, Sunshine Coast Airport will review feedback gathered by the Office of the Coordinator-General and will respond appropriately. The EIS will then be lodged with the Office of the Coordinator-General and the Australian Government for approval determination.
