Have you had a look at the Significant Developments 2015 map council has released? The map provides a handy visual snapshot of what is happening and where in our region. It indicates the developments lodged and approved during the 12 months leading up to September 2015. Several developments are mooted in and around Kawana including aged care centres in Warana and Meridan Plains, multi-storey car parks in Kawana and Sippy Downs, a motel and restaurant in Birtinya, dwellings at Parrearra, and dwellings and a community centre at Little Mountain.

Airport expansion – further consultation opportunity

Following last year’s public consultation on the environmental impact of the Sunshine Coast Airport expansion, a second engagement period has opened, providing the community with a further opportunity to provide input. The proposed expansion will include an international standard runway enabling jet aircraft to use the airport. Findings from the environmental impact study are on display on the Office of the Coordinator General’s website, council’s website, customer contact centres and libraries this month. Submissions and questions should be directed to the Office of the Coordinator General before November 30. For more information visit www.haveyoursay.dsdip.qld.gov.au.

Local Laws – have your say

Do you want to provide feedback on local laws affecting our community? Council is reviewing local laws and invites submissions on proposed changes. Some of the proposed amendments relate to administration, animal management, community health and environmental management, infrastructure and parking. Submissions must be received in writing or on email by close of business November 30. For more information visit www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.
