Cr Baberowski - Congratulations to Trailers 2000

I would like to add my congratulations to Trailers 2000 in Beerwah, which has taken out the Regional Business Award at the Queensland Telstra Australian Business Awards.

I met with this family business some time ago and was impressed back then with their commitment to be the best that they could be.  Its even more inspiring to think that they began in 1993 on the NEIS government business development scheme and that Trailers 2000 is now the largest Australian trailer manufacturer of superior quality, fully galvanised trailers and accessories, and processors of rolled formed steel.

It now employs 40 people and my congratulations go to owners Stuart and Jenny Daniels, who have worked hard to make Trailers 2000 a great business with a strong reputation for consistent quality.

The company has developed a rent-then-buy facility for new customers and is the only trailer retailer to offer 24/7 roadside assistance and an extensive safety education program.

Stuart and Jenny involve all staff in business development and encourage new ideas. Their interest in staff and their families has stretched to assisting in the purchases of first cars and first homes.

Now that’s the way to attract and hold high-quality staff!

Pests look out!

Glasshouse Mountains is to be included in a pest survey to be carried out in rural and peri-urban areas of the Sunshine Coast.

The idea is to check on the spread of declared pest plants and animals – and raise community awareness of them.

In an area such as ours leaving pest plants and animals can lead to massive environmental damage, loss of diversity and agricultural productivity – and be a threat to livestock and domestic animals.

The surveys will take place between now and October, and information including booklets, fact sheets and public notices will be sent out to landowners.

If you already have issues regarding pests you can contact us and we can arrange a visit to your property. Council will also be auditing and treating local roads for declared pest plants.
