Businesses will save in many ways with the introduction of Sunshine Coast Council’s electronic eTendering when all advertised tenders for contracts are accessed and submitted electronically.

Council Procurement Contracts Manager Lyn Nicholson said the introduction of eTendering on Tuesday 16 November, means significant savings in document printing, handling, reviewing and storage practices for business enterprises when submitting tenders to council.

"Electronic eTendering means businesses will make savings by ending the need for the large amounts of paper required for detailed documentation," Lyn Nicholson said.

"In the past, the tender submission meant many hours with the document being physically compiled, managed and delivered with a CD or DVD to council’s tender box located at Nambour – this now means no more driving or couriering is necessary," she said.

"Everyone will benefit with immediate transmission, automatic receipt confirmation and viewing of tender submissions electronically.

"Businesses are invited to register – and those currently registered with council’s tender alert service need to re-register to access the new portal - through council’s website.

"In addition, all libraries across the Sunshine Coast have on-line services that can also be used by those who may not have easy access to a computer.
