Cooroy business community support Pink Fun Trail

Sunshine Coast Council’s Cooroy Library and a bevy of locals looked pretty in pink on Thursday 18 October to raise both funds and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Division 12 Councillor Tony Wellington said it was terrific to see the Cooroy community dressed in their best pink outfits to support the Pink Fun Trail.

"I was pleased to join over 100 locals as we followed a surprise trail around the Mill Place Precinct and Cooroy CBD," he said.

"It was a fantastic community event which saw a sea of pink, including pink pooches and babes in prams. Some of the local High School students created outrageous, inspired get-ups for the event.

"It was a perfect Spring morning that saw Cooroy’s streets filled with laughter and community spirit.

"I would like to personally thank the many local businesses who sponsored the annual event and donated wonderful gifts as prizes."

The Pink Precinct Fun Trail was sponsored by Cooroy Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank, Splashes of Sunshine, Cooroy RSL and Bowls Club, Cooroy Shoes and Accessories, Sandpitt Kids, Belvedere News, Possums Books, Cooroy Family Support Centre, Cooroy Cruise and Travel, Maison de Provence, Music2Grow, Rotary Club of Cooroy, Camphor Laurel Initiative Inc, Cooroora Woodworkers Club Inc, Friends of Mill Place, Jewellery Temptations, Serene Thai, Maple Street Acupuncture, Cooroy Newsagency, Wildflower Fashion, Sandy Klein’s Living Yoga, Jenny Morris and her Tai Chi group and Lucy Cloonan Personal Training.

Prizes were awarded to Kylie Thompson as the first over the line, Margaret Kippen from Cooroy Drapery for best pink costume and Jessica Young for bonus points.

Participants enjoyed a celebration breakfast which was provided by Cooroy Rotary and there was free face painting and fun for all ages.
