Calvary Christian Church will continue to deliver the extremely popular Carols on Kings and Carols at Cotton Tree Christmas events for an additional two years following endorsement by council at its Ordinary Meeting today.
After the 2017 carols events, a review was conducted by event organisers and divisional councillors Cr Tim Dwyer and Cr Jason O’Pray to discuss the events, proposed programming and audience feedback.
Following the review, it was proposed that council would continue with the three-year sponsorship agreement and provide $60,000 per year to Calvary to help deliver these valuable community events in 2018 and 2019.
It is anticipated that a tender process to seek a three-year (2020-2023) sponsorship arrangement with one or more organisations to deliver future Christmas Carols events will be undertaken in 2019.
