Caloundra Music Festival line-up announced next week
Organisers of this year’s Caloundra Music Festival are on the verge of announcing headline acts – including an iconic Aussie band and a classy international performer who has never before played on the Sunshine Coast. Tickets to the festival have been out-selling all previous years’ records and are expected go into orbit once the first of the festival’s star-studded line-up is announced next week.
Festival director Richie Eyles said the festival buzz had been building for some time and music lovers would not be disappointed with the top bands on this year’s bill.
Mr Eyles warned festival goers to get in quickly to save on discounted tickets before August.
“Ticket prices rise incrementally each month, so they are cheaper now than they will be in August or September,” he said.
"Those people who got in early at the best prices will be over the moon when they hear about this year’s amazing line-up, including some of Australia’s all-time favourite performers and younger acts who are just peaking now in terms of their skills and popularity.” Tickets to the festival, to be held at Kings Beach from October 23 to 25, have been snapped up as far afield as New Zealand since they went on sale over the internet in April.
The festival is supported by the Sunshine Coast Council to bring a quality, family-friendly event to the Sunshine Coast. For three years, the festival has been successful in bringing top-ranking musicians to local audiences. Sunshine Coast Mayor Bob Abbot said the music festival attracts visitors from all over Australia, bringing economic and cultural benefits to the local community. Media representatives are invited to attend the launch of the 2009 Caloundra Music Festival at Kings Beach next Friday 31 July to find out more about the line-up.
