Light, bright, airy and welcoming – these are just some of the words council expects visitors to the Caloundra Library will be using next month when the new entry is unveiled to the public.
To ensure library customers are not inconvenienced during the refurbishment works from June 22-30, Caloundra Library will remain open and access will be provided via alternative entry points.
Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer said the new look entrance at Caloundra Library would reflect council’s commitment to investing in the much-loved library service to ensure it remains relevant and responsive to new and existing audiences while continuing to have a positive, ongoing influence in our diverse communities.
“The Caloundra Library entrance makeover is part of a region-wide refurbishment program and this refurbishment will be the start of many more improvements expected to happen over the next 12 months,” Cr Dwyer said.
“Our libraries continue to grow in popularity, with 4680 people visiting one of Sunshine Coast Council’s eight branches and two mobile libraries every day.
“The future changes will ensure Caloundra Library has greater synergies with Felicity Park and surroundings.
“During the makeover, there will be no interruption to services however there may be some minor noise disruptions.”
