Consultation is underway for input into the Noosa Junction Placemaking Master Plan to rejuvenate Noosa Junction, making it an easier and more attractive place to visit and do business.
Sunshine Coast Council’s Place Coordinator for Noosa Junction, Jamie Franklin said place making is about capturing the uniqueness of an area – the things that make it so special - and then bringing these elements into the outcomes for the Noosa Junction.
“The Junction will be the place to be on Saturday 13 March for the community to attend a fun and creative consultation event and have input into the Master Plan,” Mr Franklin said.
“With the help of Noosa Junction Business Association, Noosa Heads Loins Club, and art students from Sunshine Coast TAFE, people will be encouraged to put down their visions for Noosa Junction by drawing pictures, posting ideas, making a wish list, staring in the roving video, or even writing a poem,” he said.
“In addition, there will be a sausage sizzle and the chance to win a number of prizes donated by Noosa Junction traders.”
Community members who cannot attend the March 13 event can also have their say online on Council’s website.
The Draft Master Plan will then be on display for feedback in late April – another chance for community to have a say – before going to Council for adoption in June.
The Master Plan will focus on town planning, urban design, traffic and landscaping - building on previous economic strategy work for Noosa Junction.
