Art and colour are Peter’s voice
The Colour is my Voice exhibition is a celebration of a decade of art making by local artist Peter Rowe who returns to the Butter Factory Arts Centre where he was originally introduced to painting through workshops.
The Colour is my Voice exhibition is a celebration of a decade of art making by local artist Peter Rowe who returns to the Butter Factory Arts Centre where he was originally introduced to painting through workshops.
This is an inspirational exhibition as Peter Rowe has Down syndrome and cannot speak. Peter can communicate through his art and a system called Facilitated Communication. Peter’s art is a revelation and celebration of his life and work. He captures the simple pleasures of family and home, revealing his natural flair with colour. For Peter, art not only has the power to heal and transform, art and colour are his voice.
Colour is My Voice will be officially opened by Peter Wellington MP on Tuesday 3 December at 6pm which coincides with International Day of People with Disability celebrations.
