Sunshine Coast Lightning has received a major boost with the club securing two more premium business partners - Sunshine Coast Airport and Avid Property Group.

“There’s a great sense of anticipation with our new corporate partners. Our results on court show we are getting stronger, while off it, the club is in a fantastic position with the backing of two more highly successful businesses,” Lightning CEO Danielle Smith said.

In the last 12 months, more than one million passengers utilised the flight services at Lightning’s home airport.

“The athletes and support staff appreciate the convenience of travelling in and out of Sunshine Coast Airport,” Ms Smith said.

“With the airport growing, more passengers can come to the Sunshine Coast for Super Netball games at USC Stadium as well as experiencing this incredible part of the world.”

Airport General Manager, Peter Pallot said Sunshine Coast Airport was incredibly proud to be partnering with Sunshine Coast Lightning,

“The team are fantastic ambassadors for the region and we look forward to welcoming our team and the wonderful Lightning fans when they travel away from home,” Mr Pallot said.

Avid Property Group general manager Bruce Harper said Avid was thrilled to put its support behind Sunshine Coast Lightning – the Coast’s first national elite sporting team.

“Avid is very pleased to become a corporate partner for the team, and to extend our commitment to supporting not only local business, but local sporting clubs,” Mr Harper said.

“With Lightning’s home court at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) only around the corner from Harmony - Palmview’s largest masterplanned community, it’s a great synergy for AVID to get behind this fantastic team which is going from strength-to-strength."

The Lightning is a partnership of Melbourne Storm, USC and Sunshine Coast Council.
