Division 3 Councillor Peter Cox said he was proud to see some long-term projects progressing well across his division as part of Sunshine Coast Council’s 2017/18 budget.
“We’re keeping our neighbourhood roads safe, upgrading public amenities and increasing recreational and sporting infrastructure across the division for everyone to enjoy,” Cr Cox said.
“This financial year, stage one of the new AFL fields and facilities at the Meridan Sports Fields kicked off with irrigation, drainage and underground services while the Kawana Aquatic Centre upgrade moved into a master planning process.
“Sunshine Coast Stadium became a field of dreams as we installed new LED lighting to power our local teams into the night.
“Road safety improvements, traffic calming measures and other road upgrades have been completed across the division and welcomed by the community.”
