Sunshine Coast Council and the State Government are set to start work on a safer vehicle access to the facility.
Division 1 Councillor Anna Grosskreutz said the new 500m stretch of road would help alleviate traffic flow dilemmas around the entrance to the sporting grounds.
"This is about providing safety and peace of mind to all users of the Beerwah sporting facility," she said.
"A 500m sealed access from Roberts Road running south and parrallel to the rail line, under the new rail overpass and into the sports grounds is now planned for construction."
Cr Grosskreutz said the $850,000 project would be jointly funded by Council and the Queensland Government’s Department of Transport and Main Roads.
"Construction on the new access road will start before Christmas and is likely to be complete by Easter next year," she said.
"With many important community and sporting events planned for the Beerwah Sportsground in 2011, it is very reassuring that the facility will have a much safer access point for people traveling to and from the venue."
