A rare design opportunity to have a hand in new brand

Graphic designers are being called on to get their creative juices flowing as the Sunshine Coast Council moves into the second phase of its search for a brand and logo.
Via a formal Expressions of Interest process, council is inviting graphic designers to take on the thoughts and comments of both council and the community, collected via its engagement program, to develop the look and feel of the council’s new brand.
Community Engagement and Governance Portfolio holder, Cr Christian Dickson, said that this second phase in the brand project process was a great way for a graphic designer or design agency to get involved in developing the visual elements of the brand.
“The community engagement program saw hundreds of residents from all age groups and townships across the region provide us with their thoughts, ideas and comments on how they perceive council as an organisation and what that may look like both in terms of words and visual elements,” Cr Dickson said.
“The results from that program were presented to council last week and now the graphic design brief is available to the graphic design industry to interpret – visually.
“Designers have until noon on Wednesday 20 May to get their designs into council.”
The EOI process, including forms, information and the design brief, is available from council’s website at www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.
