Council provides educational programs on recycling and waste disposal free to the community.

The Waste 2 Resource Education Program is free for Sunshine Coast residents. Take advantage of our Guest Speaker presentations or join a library workshop.

Composting and worm farms

Composting and worm farms

About half of what we throw away is organic waste. Learn why sending organic material to landfill is contributing to climate change. Participants will learn about the issues with food waste and find solutions to apply at home. During this session, you will understand how to take care of a compost and worm farm. 

Sunshine Coast Council will donate a compost bin to every group that participates.

Council holds many workshops at local libraries. Workshops are delivered by experts on the following topics:
