'7 Years to Grow' tree planting

Council celebrated seven years until the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games with tree planting events.

In just seven years, the world’s eyes will turn to the Sunshine Coast for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Council celebrated this important milestone with 7 Years to Grow - an exciting initiative to green our backyard and work towards a more sustainable region in 2032 and beyond.

There were several tree events across the coast and a photo competition for the community began 23 July, 2025. Follow this initiative through images on Council's news website - OurSC.
