Turn your artwork into a wearable, printable pattern!
Designing repeats is a key skill for creating designs for clothing, prints and homewares, as well as celebrating native plants through design. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn to take an analogue drawing or painting and turn it into a seamless, repeating tile, ready to print on fabric, wallpaper, or anything you dream up. We'll cover motif design, layout, and the seamless-repeat technique. All artists and all styles are welcome to come play and learn!
Dr Grace Smith comes from a background in conservation science. She enjoys approaching art as a practice for exploring nature, and the ways science and maths blend with design.
All skill levels and art styles are welcome. We will provide basic analogue materials – paper, pencils, watercolours, maybe pastels.
Bring an iPad if you have one. A laptop will also work.
